the owner is coming in soon, she will want her desk. she doesn't like that i sit here and get my Zack germs all over her holy desk. its got Buddhas and dragons marble globes and shit all over it. what ever. i guess i got some grease on her chair.(i had cleaned it up before she returned the proper way, i think someone here told her it happened.) now she doesn't want me sitting at this desk anymore. she doesn't even want me working here. if it was up to her id be living off the planet somewhere... it doesn't bother me, i used to live on her property. sleep with her niece, party with her daughters and create mayhem in her community.
i never do what I'm told and always do what i want. she hates that. she tolerates me at best. and for her to know i use her desk, touch her things and sit in her chair must make her skin crawl.
she is polite enough to me and has actually offered to exchange some vegetables from our gardens... but she is not my fan... why am i bitching about it? i dunno... my question is have you all ever worked for/with some one who has no desire to share the same oxygen as you and yet makes no attempt to share how they really feel?

Tomorrow, when she's out to lunch, open up her computer screen to Filthy Friday.
A nice surprise for her when she comes back and everyone else will think it was her who was looking at it.
Yay! Made it here before Beast!
Oh wait. Tomorrow's only Thursday.
I'm getting ahead of myself.
I'll go now.
that pretty much describes my entire working history (with two notable exceptions.) i have problems with authority. BIG PROBLEMS.
on the other hand, i am the worlds BEST, most responsible employee; your guardian angel and savior if you just let me do my damn job and don't hang over my shoulder trying to do it for me.
now go lick all her computer keys and the rim of her coffee cup and let it dry.
...hey, it worked in a John Waters movie.
wow! an m.j. threesome!!! sweet action! and i have already been acussed of infecting the network with porn... i dont think that one would work, it would be funny if i brought up some religious sites though, something with buddha roasting over an open fire...
NATIONS!!! you slipped in while i was filling her water jug with.....
and i feel you with the "let me do my fucking job" thing... i hate to be micro managed and its worse when folks here start "helping" me do my job....
thanks for the comment!
I've got to be honest, it's been so long since I held down a job (well a job besides housewife), all I have is a dim memory of the secret death rays that I shot at EVERYBODY ELSE through the cubicle walls...
oh wait, at my job now I sense a lot of unspoken resentment coming from the herd--my little girl has been remarkably sarcastic to me lately. She claims that "it's just because I enjoy using sarcasm, mama!" Hm...
Help yourself to a big serving of Ma Beastie's chickpea curry or Nation's three-bean salad and that'll give you the farts.
The oxygen sharing will be really good then.
leah, i just watched a great movie about a man who does the same thing from his cubicle. "he was a quiet man, with cristian slater. pretty good movie. anyways the kids are a huge job and as time goes on it seems less and less apriciated... i know i didnt make things easy on my parents...
m.j. i'll have to graciously pass on the bean salad, but there is enough noxious gasses here between the baby screaming in my office at present and the thirty or so guys who hang around in the office in the morning. i'll have to think of some thing extra special to set up, perhaps some slightly used bananas.
I could provide you with some Salmonella, but then again, it would be illegal, so I better not. I've worked with someone that I pretended to be nice to, and she pretended to be nice back several times. And one guy that I was a total bitch to because he was just a total dick. As for the job thing, I think I have it pretty good right now. I have very little stress at my new job, and I think I am slowly beginning to find my place and learn how to react to the people. So I think all will be fine. I had some good news today on my Sis, so I'll post it on the blog. Thanks for your concern. And yes she lives close, and although I do not see her as often as I should, the potential is there. I suppose I will have to reasses priorities and try to make more time for her. Thanks for your concern.
Wow. What a loaded question. I've always been a great employee. I've worked mostly for law firms and universities all through college, and always been happy. Always. I'm loyal, honest, kind, etc., but I worked for an insurance firm when I first arrived in the San Francisco/Bay Area and was fired after something like 11 months. Yup, escorted out the door by security as a lesson to all employees. Yup! Me! I was about 21, dealing with the worst supervisor on the planet (honestly, she was manipulative and evil), and after discussing my discomfort with the boss, was told to "Get along." I shot all 100 lbs of my venom back at him and said "Fuck you, I've had enough." The next morning I arrived at work and was escorted out the door by security! The only time in my whole life I've been fired. The corporate attorney who recommened I be fired loved me. She saw me a few months later on the U.C. Berkeley campus and gave me a big hug. She said "I did it for you honey, you didn't belong in that cess pool." I'll never forget that. And yes, she was right. Some things happen for a reason.
It was a wonderful lesson.
I often wondered what happened to her. She was a young corporate lawyer working her way up in an environment where she didn't belong.
I sincerely hope she's happy now and doing the sort of law she loves. Honey, if you ever read this, you know me and I know you. Isn't life beautiful?
