BEST THINGS IVE HEARD SO FAR....
the folks who have survived these fires are now experiencing guilt... the home next door burned to the ground and their home a hundred feet away is still intact.... its tough i guess when that happens.
something else i heard today was "it was enjoyable to talk about and be a part of until it turned towards our house...."
and "she was so pissed that he didn't take the dogs..."
"why" i ask. "they weren't even on the property when he was there getting all their paintings and a truck load of their belongings..."
"well, he should have found the dogs, that fucking bum."
she being the wife of the man whose ex-son-in-law went up to their property while they were out of town to retrieve any valuables along with his children's belongings and some of his exwifes stuff, because their mother was too far away to make it happen herself...
"um, those dogs were at deetjens. and they aren't even married any more, he did that out of the kindness of his heart... why is he a bum?"
"he should have found those dogs..."
"the dogs showed back up there today, and they still haven't returned from vacation yet so what gives?
"hes a fucking bum...." she mumbles and turns back to her desk.
with all the hubbub and rumors flying around, i think I'm going to go home and not go out until Monday when i have to be at work!!! have a great weekend all and be safe eh?

we are fine
it funny how shit always flies at the same time in the same direction! first our water was a problem, now our home phone is on the blink, then today they shut my cell phone off. i called and they had no idea why? i haven't even received this months bill yet. then they told me that my next bill would have a thirty six dollar reconnection fee attached to it? what? hello? so after thirty minutes of sitting on the side of the highway and going from dept. to dept. i finally get the charges reversed and "have a nice day? what?
anyway, the fire is just consuming everything in its path and they have all but stopped fighting it. they wont go up or onto roads with no access to a way out other than the way in. they aren't trying to stop its path anymore either... so homes are burning. its all the way into the south coast now and they have evacuated my friend wango. they are not letting anyone(hardly) down the highways and there are more pieces of equipment sitting on the side of the road than are fighting the fire... sitting there, doing nothing... idling away the hours... its so disheartening and frustrating...
that's all folks and as of now we are in the clear and aren't in any immediate danger... lots of good thoughts to you all and thanks for all your support and prayers... i will be back to normal blogging habits soon!!!

SO MUCH FOR RUMORS AND THE MILL
after a nine hour day of driving to the city and back to pick up our rebuilt transmission (finally) and returning to the office only to find our town in a complete state of hysteria, did i start the rest of my day. cheese is sick out the nose and is feeling the love the nasal gods.... our town is in the highest state of fire rumordom.. code fucking red... its sickening... in a communitity where everybody knows everything about everyone, its no shock that when tragidy strikes so do the know it alls. i had several phone calls asking about how the fire is doing by my house... WHAT? the fire is miles and miles miles from us, but i had to ensure them that cheese had driven herself personaly to this supposed fire site and saw nothing other that the fire twenty miles from us burning away... and that was only the begining... i digress...
the fire is fucking us in the ass with its hot poker in many other ways... the mini-cheeses dads house is in imminant danger still and "the new sherriffs in town" will not let them up to retrieve any more belongings today. as of the fire meeting at our multi-agency facility sixteen homes have burned. all of them we know and have been to, most are of people we know or who live in them and lost everything they couldnt put into a couple of toyotas.... ive seen cell phone pics better than any ive ever seen on the news or in the paper... i pray for these people...
last couple of days we have driven up to a look out here locally and watched the bombers and choppers dumping load after load... today we were informed that they have taken the majority of our resources away for other fires that threaten more homes elsewhere in the state. i care as much for those people as they do for me.... it was dissheartening to only see a couple of airborne fire fighting units in the sky this evening compared to the multitude of them last night. and the fire is bigger and moving faster than last night as well... so watching haulers with dozers leave the area didnt bode well for my solo ride home...
it will be a new dynamic here, businesses are being shut down and people evacuated, locals are hanging out in parking lots trying to go on in a normal fashion, what else are you going to do. they have shut down the highway in areas and so far its been up to law enforcements descretion as to who and when people can pass...
badge and a gun makes certain people do the wrong things at the wrong times... i wish we had more humble police helping us here... we are all not pot smoking, tree hugging hippies... some of us work, live , love and contribute here.... we need not be treated like we are smuggling something or being dishonest when we say we are helping someone evacuate or are simply trying to go home after a 72 shift at the hospital...
im spent and keep promising to do things im not able to do... so thank you all my bomb ass readers for your wicked support and checking in and your comments... im here, availible for what ever... just cant do my usual blog routine as of yet... ive lurked in several places this week and looks like you guys are keeping it up, so gla to be a part!!! have a safe and sound evening....
yeah, enjoy all the speeling and punkuation errors... i, uh... left them in on porpus!!!
*slinks off, feeling stupid that he cant spell on top of everything else*

ANOTHER FAST ONE
so big sur is on fire again... the girls are quite stressed out that it may affect/burn their dads house.... its huge and i guess there has also been a massive rock slide as a result of the fire. i spent several hours yestarday listening to the scanner and trying to take photos of the massive thunder and lightning storm that hung directly over us. massive. hope my photos work out, i'll post them if they do! today is the memorial service for my friends husband... over a month has past and it seems like yesterday that all went down in the garage...
im slowly loseing speed and momentum at work and in life.... im always tired, a fucking grouch, too lazy for much sex and sick off and on constantly... i never took that vacation and i need it...
anyways, hope yer weekends have been great and i'll be back to commentsie backsies and all that jazz soon!!!!

man oh man...
so the suffering still continues... to top it all off its so damn hot here (over one hundred degrees) that i cant hardly tell if the sweatyness I'm experiencing is from the heat or coming from my ass....
anyway, I'm still too fucked up to post anything of any substance so here is a link i thought was interesting for those of you who have a cell phone and are thinking of purchasing a new one. this might help sway your decision one way or another...

AS LIFE WOULD HAVE IT
cheating on the Internet for just a moment! thank you all for your comments on my last several posts!!! I've been trying to get this crane finished so things slow down here at work. incredibly busy, whew!!! then this morning we have no water at our house!! three women and no water, i cant begin to tell you what kind of issue that would be by lunch time... i found the problem and didn't have all the parts so the landlordian is coming up today... I'm hoping to get off work early enough to catch him on site and not have him running around the property un-supervised!! hahaha... miss you all and will try to come back this evening... we have a new phone service/setup at our house and it doesn't seem to wanna let me get online... grrummmpppfff...
EDIT: no shit storm as of yet, i did think at first that the "no water" at my house this morning might have had something to do with sabotage... but no, just broken male pipe thread fittings... beau will now be wearing a "slip fit" muzzle in the mornings for his poop and pee time. i cant think of another way to let him out to do his business long enough in the mornings with out some sort of adult supervision. and when ever he is out on our property he will have to wear one. our other neighbors dog bit buddies wife/girlfriend last month... i think there might be some merit to the theology "laws of attraction". they must be thinking that they are going to be bit. and besides the guy was trespassing and driving his dirt bike on my private driveway/road. he has a water system down at the creek that he accesses through our property. his actual easement is through our other neighbors yard, not ours... push comes to shove, i didn't see it happen, so i cant be sure it was my dog, he was trespassing and I'm sure i have bigger guns next to my front door than he can carry on his dirt bike!!!
I'll try to give you a better post soon! tomorrow i have to drive up to Hayward to pick up our transmission!(hopefully)

damn man...
my dog bit the neighbor i dont know on the arm a couple of good ones this morning.... we will see what level of shit storm this brings down upon me.... fuck.

friends
we are headed over to my friends house whose husband hung himself last manth to d a bit of surprize gardening. he used to do a bit of garden work and her yard has since turned in to the dog shit zone... so some people got together and organized a yard day... they got a truck load of good soil and several pallets of sod, a truck load of bark mulch and some cool prefab fencing. she has a jappanese tea garden in its begining stages and we will finish it off. many plants and bulbs(i know its a bit late for those, but they will be nice to watch grow for her in the years to come...) have a great saturday kids and i'll be back...

I FEEL A BIT OF POWER DRINKING COMING ON!
today was pure hell... my parts didn't show up, we had part of the "dream team" show up and start welding and grinding metal on the table right next to a freshly rebuilt eight thousand dollar engine head. "
"I'm over it! your fucking dream boys out there just wasted a week of work!" i said as i blasted through the office to get some final paperwork done.
"why don't you work on your conversation skills there, sweat pea." my boss responds.
"i told them this morning that they shouldn't weld on my tables today, i put a shop cloth over the engine head and reminded their foreman that they are not to be welding around the crane. they used my shop cloth to cover the bullshit they are working on and left my shit out in the open, they are filling it with metal shavings!!! i unplugged the grinder, told him to weld on the bench in the shop and don't fuck with my shit. he looked at me and tried to plug in the grinder to keep working." i stammered.
"what do you want me to do about it?" he causally asks as he turns up the volume on the computer while streaming the golf masters...
"nothing, i cut the fucking cord off the grinder and ripped the breaker out of the breaker box for the welders. it should take the rest of the day for them to fix it and the, the beginning of the week for "big cheese" to tear the head back down and clean it out! do what ever the fuck you want, I'm outta here! thanks for all your help!" i damn near yelled.
his face drops and he runs out into the shop....
have a nice weekend folks, I'm hitting the sauce.

cheese and i were checking out all of nations bitchin garden posts as of late and she was feeling my garden post did not do us very much justice! (there is three different links there, if you hadn't already figured that out!) so she has volunteered to take some real pictures and do some guest posting here on the voices!
as i was telling nations earlier, it is quite important for us to feel like we are "keeping up with the Johnson's" and our garden will not be out done! so cheese will be here in the next few weeks or so with her version of our garden... and perhaps even learn the importance of commentsie backsies too!
this day has been the fourth day in a row of work hell kids and i have nothing new to add or to enrich y'alls life with today so enjoy yourselves (but not too much, especially under the desk at work!) and have a great day!!!

something political!
well, in California we have just finally legalized gay marriage... I'm down with that. i mean who gives shit anyway, its a failing institution anyway... i see it all over. I'm in the middle of someone who is working on terminating theirs... so i think everyone should have the right to fuck up their lives they way they see fit!!!
for a different perspective go here! random has a solid relationship with her man, and i am happy for her and her random man!!!
anyway, i liked the motivational poster and thought id rummage up some drivel so i could post it! now, seeing the rainbow sticker on cars will bring a whole new image to my mind!!! i love rainbows!!!

nothing new as i am spent
today I'm spent. two kids to call helpers today and a slew of fucked up shit at work. wrong part, people wanting stuff loaded all day, a truck that needs a major clutch adjustment, a dozer that needs seals, i still need to tear into the crane turret... etc, etc, blah, blah, blah....
I'm beat kids and its finally getting warm outside... nothing like two hundred degree hydraulic oil running down your arm and face and it being over eighty degrees outside... yeah, I'll stop boring you!
thanks for all the nice comments on cheeses garden! she will be undoubtedly pleased!!!

some more phone pics
these are our seven foot tall peas!! and a baby Japanese maple tree. (never mind that...)
a lousy shot of our gray water garden. it gets all the water from the upstairs laundry and sinks and tub.... cali-lillies, mint, abijillion kinds of flowers and wild strawberries....
these are the first beds i built almost two years ago. we way over seeded them and have not had to touch them since. they just keep pounding out new and different flowers year round. even in the snow...

our pumpkin patch next to "the swimming pool". notice the four different types of grapes on the fence behind?!?!
in this picture we have another shot of our peas, next to the carrots and radishes, beets, chard, corn and bush beans. cheese has two different types of egg plant and three different peppers. the raspberries are just getting established.
another shot looking down at it all with small view of the yard in front of the house...
here's a further back view of some other beans and purple potatoes, four varieties of lettuce, volunteer tomatoes and flowers and such.
oh, our soon to be record breaking sunflower. this beauty started in the middle of winter and is already over seven feet tall. its been growing over a few inches a day! I'm bummed i didn't get any shots of our fourteen varieties of tomatoes... anybody have any ideas what the small black spots on the leaves on our "early girls" are... they already are producing some tomatoes, but are getting these spots on their lower leaves...

WOW!
LOTS BEEN GOING ON HERE ON THE VOICES THIS WEEKEND IT LOOKS LIKE! asides from the drunken partying, gardening(which i brought pictures of) and weekend revelry there seems to have been a lot more going on that i missed out on.
today i have cheeses dad, aka: the big cheese, here again helping me again and as an added bonus I'm babysitting, errr... guiding another one of of head honchos children into the glorious world of diesel mechanics today and for the rest of the week!!
so I'm fucking busy, alas... I'll try to sneak back here at lunch... but a couple of immediate things...
first nations! thanks for pimping me out on your blog, i got mad traffic that day and loved your post!
suz, ??? what happened? I'm so out of the loop, but I'll track back and see if i cant figure it out...
everyone else, thanks for all your awesome comments and replies and will get back to you all shortly!!!
if anyone can clue me in as to what was happening around here while i was gone that would be great!!!

WOAH, HOLY SHIT!!!!!
as you all may know, I've been working on our crane. thirty minutes ago my helper(who is about two hundred and twenty pounds) climbs up on to it(the fenders are ten feet in the air) and decides he is going to fall off backwards. I'm watching him as he grabs a hoist strap and unhooks it as he falls backwards off the fender towards two full 55 gallon hydraulic barrels.
BLAM!!!
buddy hits his hand on the barrel as he plunges to the ground back first with the loosened strap firmly in his grasp...
DUFF.... he hits the ground on his back and with a whiplash motion smacks his head onto the compacted decomposed granite.
i put my hand on his chest to see if he is still breathing, nope....
i talk to him and tell him to "FUCKING BREATH DAMMIT!"
his eyes are open but not pointing in the same direction. one is looking over my left shoulder and the other is kind of swirling around in circles in the sky. his heart starts pounding!!!
"OH BOY, BUDDY, YOU BEST START FUCKING BREATHING"
"GASP, SNORT, BUWHAAAA..." he exhales gasping for air as blood starts oozing from his nose...
"keep on breathing asshole..." i say while frowning at him...
"fuck you, my back hurts... " he replies and tries focusing in on my face.
"yeah, good. you just fell like ten feet. remember that?"
"yeah, i do, my back..." he groans and closes his eyes...
"keep your fucking eyes open and stay still. do you want some water?"
we shoot the shit for a minute and he lets go of the strap finally. hes bleeding from his hand a bit and wipes the blood from his nose... he lifts his legs and turns his head and i help him roll over onto his side.
"hey, help me up..."
"fuck you... you think i want my back to hurt as well?"
we go into the office and i sit him down and give him some water. call the health center and they are out to lunch... I'll be leaving to take him there in a few minutes...
ever seen anybody "knocked the fuck out"? crazy shit man.... have a good weekend all!!!
go green!!
sweet, sweet action!!!
this is actually a comment i left over at csi Seattle's blog. he was having some troubles with a few commenters about one of his posts. he drives a big truck and enjoys it. some folks didn't appreciate his enjoyment or his big truck. left him some not so nice comments and he didn't like that at all...
its a big truck truck, who gives a shit. I'd drive a jacked up hummer if i had the money, my licence plate would read "yeah i am that asshole you bitch about."
i am the kid in school your parents warned you about as well...
i wanted to give him my side or version about how i feel about these high and mighty folks who "care so much about the planet". here was my comment, in case he deletes it. he doesn't want heat in his comment box and this might stir it up over there. sorry csi...
"that's pretty ff-ing funny if you ass me. the drama that is... I'll give you another side of the truck driving/gas wasting vs.hypocritical save the earth angle... where i work the trucks are all big. massive. our smallest truck is a crew cab f-250 long bed. we have transfer haulers that average about 4-5 miles a gallon (when empty of dirt, equipment, etc), transport trucks, portable concrete batch plants, thirty some odd pieces of equipment ranging from backhoes to bulldozers, (bigger than tanks, try a cat d-9 on for size)anyway, where we live folks are all about building green and carbon footprint, blah, blah, blah... do you know what it takes to build this stuff? first any of the materials found in these homes is manufactured "somewhere" right? well then its shipped via cargo ship, train, plane, transport hauler, etc... across the globe to the home site... which uses fuel, oil, kills animals in various ways right? then we haul our soot belching equipment to the pristine ocean view they spent millions buying,(i wont get into the evils of money here)and we dig. disrupting local plants and animals, ripping out trees and the like.then we line the dirt with various forgien materials, anti moisture barriers, plastics and treated gravels...lay a foundation you say? well then we bring in more trucks and pumps and will spread hundreds of yards or concrete embedded with fiberglass which will encase miles of wires and plastic tubing and conduits, galvanized pipes and the like...the wood used to form these foundations is normally discarded... thousands of board feet of lumber dumpstered... then we haul off your dumpsters in our d.o.t. rated dump trucks...when this is all done we dig large holes in the earth and install huge fiberglass tanks and trench in hundreds of feet of plastic piping so they can have the ease of flushing a toilet... then fifty or more feet of "leach fields" where the excess "black water" will run off and into the ground for years to come...lets take a little break here and realize that you cant get the next phase of your "green built" home done without construction work and construction workers. they will not be hauling their equipment and building supplies there on top of their prius or echo. they will need trucks, lots of them, four wheel drive versions to get up the dirt road we hacked into the side of the mountain and over the bridges we built with steel shipped over from china and Taiwan...when all this is done, the customer would generally like several back-up power options installed in to the network of the house. so we install generators and solar systems... (did you know it takes more energy and electricity to build a solar panel than it will ever produce in its life time?!?! ever! it could produce power for a hundred years and still not even come close... just thought you should all know that.) now the home owner will want to protect their home homes with some commercial grade chemicals rights? stains and weather proofing and the like right? i know there are some organic paints and stains, i have them in my home. but the average home builder does not like the maintenance involved with these products, so they use the ones with m.e.k. nasty stuff, makes babies with three arms and shit...then they will need to get water, either by drilling into the earth and finding it or tapping into a spring or pulling it from a nearby creek. more pipes, more wires, more fuel/energy/plastics into the air... and it lowers the aquifer an/or surrounding creeks.now they move in and want shit like t.v. and phone, perhaps some high speed Internet. more trucks show up and hack down some trees and set up plastic dishes and telephone poles and more cables and wires and fiber-optic nonsense.
is your home feeling green now?
so when you are out driving around in your hybrid feeling smug about how you are saving the world one step at a time your not... unless you live in a hollowed out tree stump and fly a kite to work, you are no better than anybody else who drives a four wheel drive truck to work and gets a sense of enjoyment out of it..."
wait until i post about how California should secede from the nation and we should start a "don't ask, don't tell policy with our working friends from the south....

what to do....
last week i purchased some limited editioned works from iksodas and simply fucking love them! i gave one to denim for his birthday and hoping it all goes well for him. and the other will replace one of the pieces i have up on the wall now. with that one being gently jacketed and placed in my fire resistant case... thing of it is i usually try to not buy more than one at a time and never more than one a month... yet here i am interested in yet another print from a new photographer (a new one to me that is)... i also try and give myself several artists and prints to choose from... so i can hem and haw and check them out a million times before i do any negotiating... there have been times where i whip out the wallet and buy, buy, buy... that has produced varied results... sometimes to my excitement the prints come and I'm fucking blown away.(this months purchase for example) other times not so much.
i once received the wrong image from a guy in Israel, "no problem, I'll send the correct one this minute!" he said.
"don't you want this one back?" i asked
"no, keep it. my mistake is your good fortune."
turns out the new photo he sends me is also #19/20 (hmmm...) and for the price i paid for the first one, i wasn't to sure that i was getting such a rare piece. now they sit in a plastic jacket buried under some of my earlier, less informed purchases.
there is so much wonderful art out there and id love to have it all on the walls or sitting in my private archive but i don't have the money.. "poor me huh, not enough money to buy art? too bad eh?." people are starving and I'm worried about which piece to buy... well i work my ass off for a living and i do deserve to treat my self in the fashion in which suits me best! hah!
bet you didn't see that coming did you...
anyway, I'll put it to you readers, I'm looking at an image from btcharles at the moment titled "finally". great pic! well shot and good depth eh? if any one has another artist or image they think i might look at to give my self a choice and not just have a buy or not to buy decision I'd love the feed back. i wont tell you what he might want for this image, so its up to you to decide what i might pay and what i might enjoy...
its not a contest. there is nothing to win, but I'll link all your suggestions on a post and give you full credit if i purchase something... how bout it!?!?!

JUST so you all know....
i hate not blogging. i really, really hate the fact that our smartest people on the planet didnt think to invent a longer day! i dont have enough time in the day to accomplish the things i need to get done. why didnt they come up with a thirty hour day? thirty five? lazy fuckers.. i bet they were americans who invented the day, time and all that bullhockey! and since it is so short some things have to suffer. and some things have to be done in the dark. tonight i was gardening in the dark. i love gardening and im damn good at it. it relieves stress and makes me feel good! even in the dark... i enjoy my animals as well... ever pick up a chicken and say hello in the dark? its the funniest thing ever. they are totally blind and out of sorts.... ours are normally extremely friendly but in the dark, they are playdough and you could hang them upside down from one foot if you so desired.....
but then it gets truly dark out...
and you have to go inside....
do chores.
and some more chores...
and you answer some phone calls...
then its past ten oclock and yer tired....
did i mention eating? nope...
did i mention bathing in any fashion? i didnt stink so...
sooo... some things suffer...
im hungry, filthy, tired and havent had a moment to do some of the other things i really enjoy in a while.... or even had energy for it... i often read blogging folk talk about simalar issues and now after two weeks of experiencing the same i concede... i fucking miss blogging and my comments, commenting and reading others blog... i hate catching up and not being apart of fun contests and the like.... im so missing out...
i wont ask to be forgiven or any of that shit, but i wish i had more time to spend in here! i think there should be a sixty hour work week and thirty hour days! not only would we make more money having to work more but there would be more time to screw off on the clock as well!!! and there would be more hours in the day for all the other shit we NEED to do... such as ummmm, drinking!!! having fun, chores(sob) and all that other shit.
i dont know how you folk who watch/have television do it. when i had t.v. i was glued to the box as much as possible... i would never get as much done now if i hit the remote as much as most of the world....
so, the facts.... i miss it here, i wish there were longer days, longer work weeks and more time in the garden...
"thats a post???" you ask... thats what i got!!
