SO MUCH FOR RUMORS AND THE MILL

after a nine hour day of driving to the city and back to pick up our rebuilt transmission (finally) and returning to the office only to find our town in a complete state of hysteria, did i start the rest of my day. cheese is sick out the nose and is feeling the love the nasal gods.... our town is in the highest state of fire rumordom.. code fucking red... its sickening... in a communitity where everybody knows everything about everyone, its no shock that when tragidy strikes so do the know it alls. i had several phone calls asking about how the fire is doing by my house... WHAT? the fire is miles and miles miles from us, but i had to ensure them that cheese had driven herself personaly to this supposed fire site and saw nothing other that the fire twenty miles from us burning away... and that was only the begining... i digress...
the fire is fucking us in the ass with its hot poker in many other ways... the mini-cheeses dads house is in imminant danger still and "the new sherriffs in town" will not let them up to retrieve any more belongings today. as of the fire meeting at our multi-agency facility sixteen homes have burned. all of them we know and have been to, most are of people we know or who live in them and lost everything they couldnt put into a couple of toyotas.... ive seen cell phone pics better than any ive ever seen on the news or in the paper... i pray for these people...
last couple of days we have driven up to a look out here locally and watched the bombers and choppers dumping load after load... today we were informed that they have taken the majority of our resources away for other fires that threaten more homes elsewhere in the state. i care as much for those people as they do for me.... it was dissheartening to only see a couple of airborne fire fighting units in the sky this evening compared to the multitude of them last night. and the fire is bigger and moving faster than last night as well... so watching haulers with dozers leave the area didnt bode well for my solo ride home...
it will be a new dynamic here, businesses are being shut down and people evacuated, locals are hanging out in parking lots trying to go on in a normal fashion, what else are you going to do. they have shut down the highway in areas and so far its been up to law enforcements descretion as to who and when people can pass...

badge and a gun makes certain people do the wrong things at the wrong times... i wish we had more humble police helping us here... we are all not pot smoking, tree hugging hippies... some of us work, live , love and contribute here.... we need not be treated like we are smuggling something or being dishonest when we say we are helping someone evacuate or are simply trying to go home after a 72 shift at the hospital...

im spent and keep promising to do things im not able to do... so thank you all my bomb ass readers for your wicked support and checking in and your comments... im here, availible for what ever... just cant do my usual blog routine as of yet... ive lurked in several places this week and looks like you guys are keeping it up, so gla to be a part!!! have a safe and sound evening....

yeah, enjoy all the speeling and punkuation errors... i, uh... left them in on porpus!!!

*slinks off, feeling stupid that he cant spell on top of everything else*

I didn't watch the news all day. Just couldn't bring myself to. I'll turn it on in a few hours and probably gulp, suck in more bad air and drive to feed the ferals. Life goes on.

Good luck to you, the ladies, animals, friends and your community. I hope the girl's dad finds the good fortune he needs today. Take good care of yourselves please.

XO

P.S. By the way, your spelling sucks!!! Glad you notice! Too funny.

holy crap, voices.
we went through the burns in eastern washington last year and i guess the police treated the farmers and ranchers the same way-like potential looters. folks they'd known their whole lives. you get barney fife out there with his one bullet in his pocket and give him an emergency situation and thats what it does to them.
stay safe. please stay safe.

ya pretty smoky this morning. couldn't see a damn thing.

but i had a chance to talk to the landlord and he doesn't seem to be worried about us. which is comforting for me. the ranch was a madhouse of fire clearance yesterday. it's amazing how much can get done.

i'm gonna try to stay out of town for a while, just go home and stay there. i can't deal with the hysteria very well. i want to smack em all. and then i worry.

i wish there was something more i could do for the people who are really affected. anyways...

IV should be all right. it's pretty far from him, he's probably just busy helpin out...

i've been wondering about it myself since they don't tell us jack shit about it, unless we are those really annoying, nosy types. and try to find anything on the web about it. i guess they are calling it the basin complex fire now. we even got a visit from the governator. hooray!

If anyone wants to see what this fire is like, checkout www.kusp.org
They have this live webcam thats been documenting the fire since it first started. So far we're all still doing fine.

Thanks Denim, thanks Cheese. Take care. But just so you know, our neck of the woods is gettng all the smoke from all the fires. It's insane. The air quality is so bad and on the morning news they gleefully told us "It doesn't matter which way the wind blows because there are so many fires." I have the headache from hell because of all the smoke, but at least I still have a house and a garden. All the best to you guys. Hang in there. I'm glad you're all okay, and thanks for keeping us informed.

Much love
